Brighton Photo Biennial 2010

I have been working with a selection of Longhill School students with their ’snapshot’ project for the Brighton Photo Biennial. They have been asked to take photos around Brighton based on a variety of prompts; texture, reflections, traces left by others etc. Students will present their work as an audio and visual presentation for the festival in October. These images are my response to their brief.

Sussex Wedding Magazine; Wedding of the Year

Samantha & Paul’s wedding has been nominated as ‘wedding of the year’ by Sussex Wedding magazine.
Ceremony venue: The Regency Room, Brighton Town Hall
Reception venue: Corals Greyhound Stadium, Brighton
Theme: Butterflies and calla lilies
Samantha and Paul say:
Our big day was memorable because… there had been a lot
of snow leading up to it, but on our wedding there were no clouds, just a beautiful blue sky.
The reception was particularly special… as we sponsored a greyhound race, which meant that our wedding was publicised in a racing magazine and we were able to present a trophy to the winner.
A funny moment was when… a man on his stag do, who was dressed as a hairy yeti, jumped in on our photos – I doubt anyone else can say that they met a yeti on their wedding day!
Overall our day was… amazing.

Brighton Marathon 2010

Sunday 18th April 2010 saw over 8,000 runners touring the streets of Brighton for the cities first marathon.  Already the second largest marathon in the UK, the Brighton Marathon raised over £3 million for various charities such as the Rocking Horse Appeal, Water Aid, and the Macmillan Cancer Support. Runners started the 26.2 mile trek from central Brighton’s Preston Park, heading out to Rottingdean then following the south coast stretching to Shoreham, then back along the seafront to the finish line on Madeira Drive.  With fantastic weather, bought crowds in the thousands to offer their cheers of support.  Congratulations to all those who participated, and to the event organisers for such a successful day.

To view PD Photography’s gallery of the Brighton Marathon, please visit the Event Album.  If you wish to purchase a print or disc of marathon images, please contact Pamela using the contact page.
